BC Beer – Red Racer White Ale

March 17, 2010

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Here is a British Columbian beer that is far from Irish.

First time I had this beer was fixing the clutch on an ATV with my father and a friend of his. We all enjoyed it.

I like this cloudy pale straw coloured beer with a head that pours like a bright white ninja. It’s there and gone in the time it takes you to blink. Pretty much all wit beers are brewed with Curaçao orange peel and coriander and normally what they impart are subdued. This doesn’t fly in the Red Racerverse. The aroma of this beer is of bold orange, coriander, wheat, and subtle fruitiness. The taste is a light, but firm, spiciness from the coriander, with the orange peel really comes through, and, of course, a nice wheaty taste with hints of malt. Add all this to a light body and you got a real thirst quenching beer.
