Two New Victorian Brews

March 20, 2010

I just kinda never got around to posting this. I really should have. You’ve probably heard about them already.

As you can see Lighthouse brewing has released a Bavarian Style lager called “Fisgard 150.” The name is to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Fisgard Lighthouse, a Victorian landmark. I believe this beer should already be in stores around the Victoria area.

Vancouver Island has released Sea Dog, an Amber Ale. It’s suppose be a seasonal beer. Currently available on draft at The Tudor House Pub, Maude Hunter’s, Christie’s, The Beagle, Garrick’s Head, C&PO’s Mess, Pacific Fleet Club & The Gunroom. Bottles will be available in a week.

As person who grew on The Island, and former, and soon to be again, Victorian, I love the marine themes of these beers. Actually the breweries on a whole both salute the local marine culture. I can’t wait to try them.
