BC Beer – Granville Island Lions Winter Ale

March 21, 2010

Yeah, if you’re one of my two readers then you might have noticed I’ve done a few winter ales recently. Yes, I am cleaning out my beer closet. So many beers. Not enough time for them all.

This beer is wildly popular with some of the people I know. For some of them it’s the only beer they’ll buy over Lucky Lager. Yeah, I run with a bad (beer) crowd.

Lions Winter Ale is a blood red beer. Vanilla dominates the nose with a milk chocolateliness to it. This carries over to the taste of the beer. Toffee is subtly present in the background through out. The low carbonation leads to an incredible smooth beer with a solid medium body. There is a residual cloying sweetness in the finish.
