BC Beer – Phillips 9 Donkeys of the Hopocalypse

August 30, 2010

Phillips’ latest beer, brewed to celebrate their ninth anniversary, is a double IPA. And that is essentially what it is, a beefed up version of their regular IPA, Hop Circle. Lots of tropical flavours with a hints of pine and a warming alcohol that blends well with the assertive hoppiness. I’m assuming that it was a single batch, so I shouldn’t suffer from the horrible inconsistency that Hop Circle is plagued by. Pick up a bottle or three if you can find it. It is better than Amnesiac and, as with Hop Circle, no inconsistency issues.

Rating: Good
Style: Double IPA
ABV: 9.0%
Serving Temp: 8ºC
BCL: 328757

  2. I’m looking forward to tasting this one over here in Vancouver if I can get my hands on some!

  3. I know that Brewery Creek got their order in today. I imagine that the other fine liquors in Vancouver got theres as well.
